Breakthroughs in Shared Measurement and Social Impact

Mark Kramer, Marcie Parkhurst, Lalitha Vaidyanathan

A new trend is emerging in evaluation: The development of innovative systems that enable hundreds or thousands of nonprofit organizations to measure their performance on common indicators and shared evaluation platforms.

Breakthroughs in Shared Measurement and Social Impact, released by FSG Social Impact Advisors with generous support from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, highlights 20 examples of social enterprises that have developed innovative and coordinated web-based approaches to reporting performance, outcome and impact measurements over multiple social enterprises and stakeholders. The resulting reports share key findings from this research, as well as detailed case studies and additional resources to promote further learning and discussion on this topic.
